Leslie and Tom

Leslie and Tom tied the knot tonight in a wedding Leslie and I have been planning since November.  She designed all her wedding projects around her beautiful custom pocket invitation that was featured in an earlier blog.  We did a two-layer black and shimmer beige escort card with ribbons to indicate beef, fish or vegetarian entrees for the Rehearsal Dinner.  For the wedding we did a layered escort card and favor boxe using her pattern paper from the wedding invitation.  The favor boxes were placed at each guests place setting with a black ribbon for a beef entree, green ribbon for vegetarian and ivory ribbon for chicken so the servers would know which entree each guest requested on their rsvp card.  Each box contained candy from Rebecca Ruth Candies.   The programs were ivory with black and green accents to compliment the emerald green bridesmaids dresses.  Leslie named her tables after places her and Tom had visited and we used a picture of them on each table sign.  Stephanie MacDonald of Planned Perfection helped coordinate all the details of Leslie and Tom's wedding with Nanz and Kraft doing the beautiful flowers (I snuck down to The Seelbach to take a look...trust me!)  Congratulation to a great couple that I had a great time meeting!

Krista and Ryan

Krista and Ryan tied the knot this weekend with their event coordinated by Jessica Leisl of Essential Details.  We did a long white program with black ink and tied them with a 7/8" bright yellow satin ribbon.  Krista also had two-sided table signs for each table with a cute poem describing the cupcake flavors on one side and the a donation they were making in honor of their wedding guests on the other which were designed in her wedding colors too.
Congratulation to Krista and Ryan!

Sarah and Jordan

Sarah and Jordan's invitations were mailed for their August wedding.  This invitation turned out absolutely stunning with a dark graphite gray, gray damask pattern paper, peach and white layers with a medium gray thermography text.  Sarah chose peach envelopes with hand-written calligraphy addressed on the fronts.  I really enjoyed meeting Sarah and her mom Anne and working on this beautiful invitation with them!

Kate and Carter

Kate and Carter's invites are in the mail!  Kate choose a pocket invitation with a letterpress two-color invitation in her colors of navy and lilac.  A large 1 1/2" lilac satin bow tied the pocket closed and navy hand-written calligraphy was written on the envelopes.

Whitney and Alex's Rehearsal Dinner

I so enjoyed helping Alex's mom choose a 2nd Rehearsal Dinner invitation this year!   We wanted to do something different than the first one so we decided to use a black and red polka dot ribbon as a starting point...then we had our color palette.   It turned out beautiful!

Emily and Arin's Save the Dates

I have to share these custom Save the Dates!  Emily and I designed the monogram, paper layers and fonts to create a truly unique one of a kind announcement for their November wedding.  We used pewter, tangerine and red colors with a milkweed top layer and envelopes with gray flecks in it.  I know I speak for Emily that we are proud of how these turned out.  Can't wait to work on the wedding invitations!  What a fun couple...
If you are planning an early 2013 wedding its not too early to get working on Save the Dates!

Jessica and Noah's wedding

My third wedding last weekend was on Sunday May 20th at Whitehall House & Gardens.  Jessica and Noah tied the knot in a beautiful outdoor ceremony without a cloud in the sky.  Carol Grisanti coordinated the festivities and Wayne from In Bloom Again did the flowers.   Again, we played off the colors of the wedding invitation which were eggshell and black with a touch of red which are featured in an earlier blog.  The escort cards were ivory and black with black ink and the table numbers were done with a background of "Clair de Lune" which Jessica's brother played during the ceremony on a grand piano that was brought in just for the ceremony!  The programs were designed with the "F" initial we used for the top of the wedding invitations and tied with a black satin bow.  They were exquisite!  I was honored to help Jessica and her mom with all the wedding papers and attend the wedding as a guest!  Congratulation to you both!!

Rosemary Beach wedding of Charissa and Wes

Charissa and Wes were married on May 18th in Rosemary Beach, FL.  We designed these placecards that were placed at each guests placesetting.  We kept with the neutral colors that we used for the pocket invitations that are featured on an earlier blog.  Best wishes to Charissa and Wes!

Marcella and Daniel's wedding

These are Marcie and Daniel's wedding programs for their May 18th Friday evening wedding in Southern Indiana.  We played off their beautiful custom four-layer wedding invitations with the colors of gray, pewter and soft pink.  We used soft pink paper with pewter ink and ribbon for the programs and they turned out great!  Congratulations to Marcie and Daniel!

Jacquie and Matt

Also, this week I mailed Jacquie and Matt's letterpress invitations for their July 14th wedding at The Gillespie.  Great care and time were taken to select these extra-thick letterpress invites.  Jacquie chose black ink for the text and copper ink for their names and accents throughout the invitation set.  The more common way of sending invitation now is to include the Rehearsal Dinner invitation in the set and use a dual response card where those guests can rsvp for both events.  A regular response set was sent to those guests coming to the wedding and reception.  Jacquie, her mom, Linda and Matt are a such nice folks and I have enjoyed working with them for about 6 months on all the paper for their wedding.  Can't believe it is 8 weeks away now!

Margaret and Nick

This week I mailed invitations selected by Margaret and Nick back in January.  She chose a traditional ivory invitation with a pearl and embossed border and black thermography ink.  She included a rsvp set, reception card and detailed accommodations card in a double envelope set.  This classy invitation set made a beautiful package with hand-written calligraphy and gave guests all the information they needed to attend this mid-July wedding.  I look forward to doing programs, menu card and escort cards and incorporating Margaret and Nick's blue and ivory colors.

1,031 Envelope sets addressed last week!

Yes, that's right...1,031 envelopes (some singles and some doubles) were addressed last week!  Six customers invitations were successfully addressed, assembled and hand-canceled for late June to
mid-July weddings.  For brides that brought me envelopes and I did not do their invitations will be back for escort cards, programs, menu cards and many more beautiful projects for their wedding.  If you are reading this blog and got your invitations through another vendor (you should have used me and saved 20%!)  and want me to help with those projects feel free to contact me!

Leslie and Tom

Leslie and Tom exquisite three-layer pocket invitations were mailed last week for their late June wedding.  It's official now!  Leslie chose a color scheme of black and cream using a beautiful patterened paper for the back layer of her invitation and other cards.  She also had several inserts in her invitation such as a rehearsal dinner insert, reception card, 2 rsvp sets and a donation card.  Both RSVP card had a menu choice so Leslie could keep track of their choice of entrees.  The escort cards will reflect those choices at the wedding...stay tuned for those pictures.  This not only helps the guest receive all the information for the wedding weekend in one mailing but allows the bride to keep track of responses in an organized manner.  We wrapped the pockets in a thick ivory ribbon with a topper using Tom's initial of his last name.

Charissa and Wes

Charissa and Wes are getting married in May in Rosemary Beach, FL!  We designed a neutral colored custom pocket invitation set for all the events that were going to take place on this exciting weekend.  First we needed a Welcome Party and Rehearsal Dinner insert.  Then we had 2 different RSVP sets...one for those guests invited to the RD, Welcome Party and Wedding and another for those invited to the Welcome Party and Wedding.  Everyone received an Accommodations / Info card with all the details.  The beautiful invitation was a square three-layered invitation with paisley paper for the back layer and raised mocha ink.  Charissa wanted a very "scripty" font for their names and we used that font throughout to tie everything together.  Brown ink was used to hand-address the envelopes in calligraphy.  The pockets were closed by a 1 1/2" taupe ribbon.  My motto is always ...Every invitation set should look "well-thought out" and this is a perfect example.

Graduation and Birthday

Here are a couple pictures of some projects I did in April for a party in Winter Park, FL.  It was a referral from a bride that I did her wedding.  I love the white calligraphy on the navy envelopes.  Then two graduation announcements / invitations that I did for friends.  The one on the left matches the announcement from University of Dayton and the one on the right matches Ballard High School colors.  Keep me in mind for other projects!!

Leslie and Eric Wedding

Leslie and Eric were married April 14, 2012 at St. Paul United Methodist Church and had their reception in the Crystal Ballroom of The Brown Hotel.  Ellen from ShaFox weddings coordinated the event.  I had the pleasure of working with Leslie and her mom on their letterpress invitations and calligraphy which I blogged about previously.  Leslie chose soft colors of pale pink and pewter gray on eggshell paper for her invitations.  She decided on soft pink paper and a thick 7/8" pink ribbon for her programs and gray ink.  I printed their custom married monogram at the top of the programs and also the menu cards.  I layered the hand-written calligraphied menu cards and escort cards with the pale pink paper and ivory top cards.  Congratulations to Leslise and Eric!

Ashley and Zach Wedding

Ashley and Zach were married this past Friday at St. Francis of Assisi.  Ashley chose letterpress invitations earlier in the year and I played off of that using parchment paper to make her programs, table numbers, menu cards and escort cards.  As you can see...classic colors and simple presentation made for beautiful wedding papers.  I love this top picture as you can see her flowers on the table at her reception.  You can see her invitations on a previous blog but pay close attention to the monogram we letterpressed on the back of the extra thick invitation.  It was an "A" and "Z".  For the wedding menus and programs we added the "S" in the middle to make their married monogram.

Meredith and Lary

Meredith chose a beautiful three layered wedding invitation with raised black and hot pink ink.  A matching reception card and rsvp set made this invitation set different from others that I have done.  She liked the three solid layers that complimented her wedding colors and this turned out fantastic!

Ashley and Zach

This week I mailed Ashley and Zach's beautiful gold letterpress invitation for their late April wedding.  Ashley chose a 600GSM card which is thicker than most cardstocks and very popular this season.  The heavy cardstock allowed their intials to be letterpressed on the back of the invitations.  Gold ink in letterpress is much different than gold thermography...it is more muted and not so shiny...very classy!  Calligraphy was written in black ink on the envelopes.

Escort cards with menu choices

If you want to offer menu choices to your guests here is a way to convey those choices to the staff at your reception by each guest picking up their own escort card with a ribbon color to indicate their entree choice.  For instance in this October wedding, guests that indicated "Beef" on their rsvp card received a card with a blue ribbon, "Seafood" had an ivory ribbon and "Vegetarian" had a burnt orange ribbon.  Each guest was allowed to choose their seat at their assigned table.  Also featured is Pam and Kevin's wedding program and napkins.

Loving the letterpress!

A classy letterpress invitation to Jann and Pete's wedding celebration in March was mailed this week.  Jann loves the look of an all block font but we changed the colors to turquoise on their names so they would stand out.  Notice the small monogram at the bottom of the invitation...love it!

Created with love...

The groom's cousin hand-painted this design on the side of Chloe and Will's circle wedding program, placecards and wedding announcements was stunning.  The wedding was held in Grand Cayman beginning of February when everyone in Louisville was stuck in the freezing cold weather.  We wanted to put a touch of Kentucky in the event so we attached the placecards to a horseshoe and the back read "Lucky in Love..."  Congratulations to Chloe and Will!

A special Rehearsal Dinner invite for Jessica and Nick

Rehearsal Dinner invitations can be as unique as a wedding invitation especially when a groom's mother designs a special invitation for their event.  This color scheme is navy and beige with the calligraphy on the envelopes done in navy to match.

Letterpress at its best!

This week I mailed the beautiful invitations for Leslie and Eric for their April wedding.  Leslie chose pewter ink for the text and a soft pink for the motifs.  I did the calligraphy in gray ink to match.

Welcome New Customers...

January is always exciting with many appointments and meeting new brides and their families. I was thinking about all the different venues that brides are using and some of them from this past week are the Town Hall in Rosemary Beach Florida, Tiki Beach in Grand Cayman, the Crystal Ballroom in The Brown Hotel, The Gillespie and newest venue The Ice House all in Louisville.  If you are reading this blog and getting married in 2012 I would love to help you with your wedding invitations!

Being in the stationery business I can't resist a new set of notecards...just wanted to share with you how cute they turned out.  Also, a set for a favorite customer that just had a baby girl...Congrats Cali!
